Client Challenge
Arjun Patel, a Mumbai-based author and illustrator, created a picture book for grades 1–3. Despite attractive illustrations, school adoption was limited:
Teachers found pacing uneven, affecting read-aloud sessions.
Some illustrations did not fully support text comprehension.
The book lacked guidelines for classroom use, including activities and discussion prompts.
Strategy and Implementation
Write Right conducted a holistic review of text and visuals:
Text Editing:
Adjusted sentence structure and word choice to improve read-aloud fluency for Indian classrooms.
Ensured vocabulary was suitable for CBSE, ICSE, and State Board curricula.
Illustration Alignment:
Ensured illustrations directly supported text, highlighting key plot points for comprehension.
Teacher Resource Development:
Created a teacher’s guide with discussion questions, vocabulary exercises, and activity ideas.
Recommended classroom-friendly formats suitable for Indian school libraries.
Results
Adopted by 50 schools across Delhi, Pune, and Hyderabad.
Circulation increased by 40%, with more students accessing the book.
Teachers reported improved student engagement, validating the changes.
